New ISAF Start Sequence
Rendezvous Yacht Club voted to adopt ISAF Start Sequence for the 2007 Racing Season.
The sequence length is 5 minutes.
Simplified flag signals - only the class flag and a preparatory or penalty flags are used.
There is a one-minute signal. (For those of you who lose track of the minutes before the start.)
Successive starts can be easily made at 5-minute intervals.
The sequence of signals is the same whether there is a penalty imposed or not.
There is no overlap required for multiple class starts. So the race officer may easily delay subsequent starts to change the starting line or course.
